Empowering Sustainability in the greek startup ecosystem with Bifrost

Overview

Bifrost aims to bolster the European Green Deal Strategy and Recovery Plan by empowering startups in Greece to develop sustainable businesses through technology and innovation. By fostering a cross-border ecosystem between Greece and Norway, the project facilitates access to knowledge, funding, and new clients, thereby supporting green entrepreneurship.

The project

Activities

Office hours with Norwegian startup founders and investors. Workshops focusing on early-stage tech startup topics. Curated educational content and resources. 1-on-1 online meetings with Norwegian and Greek experts, including fundraising experts, corporates, lawyers, and accountants.

Objective

The project seeks to enhance Greek enterprises’ business skills development capacity, fill skill gaps, improve financial planning, and foster product/service innovation aligned with the European Green Deal Strategy and Recovery Plan. It aims to facilitate collaboration between Greek and Norwegian entities, establishing digital meeting areas, promoting learning, sharing best practices, and networking to support the European Green Deal Strategy.

Bifrost is supported by a grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway through the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 under the Programme “Business Innovation Greece”. The “Business Innovation Greece” program is part of the EEA & Norway Grants (European Economic Area or EEA), 2014-2021 and offers funding to businesses to support the private business sector of Greece. The program’s ultimate goal is to reduce economic and social inequalities in the EEA and strengthen bilateral relations between 15 EU countries in Central and Southern Europe and the Donor Countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway).
