Overview

Youth unemployment remains a pressing issue in Europe, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, with the youngest age group facing significant challenges. Anticipating the evolving job market is crucial, particularly in the ICT sector where there’s a shortage of skilled workers. Projects like this aim to equip young individuals with the necessary skills to navigate this changing landscape, reducing unemployment risks, and fostering sustainable growth and innovation.

The project

Activities

• Development of the Workplace Profiling (WP) project, involving planning activities and tasks in Spain.
• Data collection and creation of a report on the labor situation and prospects by FF and Startup Greece.
• Technological setup and construction of the platform by a designated partner.
• Creation of questionnaires for profiling by multiple partners, aiming to identify training, skills required, and aspirations.
• Curriculum development for a course consisting of six modules and strategic activities by Euro Lider and FF.
• Hosting of a 2-day meeting in Crete by Startup Greece, involving preparation for the pilot phase.
• Implementation of the pilot phase, training 50 youth workers and gathering feedback.
• Analysis of pilot phase results and improvement of the course accordingly.
• Organization of multiplier events in multiple countries to disseminate project outcomes.

Objective

• Promote the employability of young people and address mismatches in the labor market.
• Provide youth workers with tools to guide young people towards future employment opportunities.
• Create a tool to identify the skills needed for emerging jobs in the labor market. Furthermore, encourage the active participation of young people in monitoring developments in the world of work.
