Reflections from Davos 2025

For the fourth consecutive year, Startup Greece proudly represented the Greek startup ecosystem at Davos, bringing it to the spotlight of the World Economic Forum (WEF) environment, where over 3,000 global leaders gathered to discuss the future of the world.

From AI to well-being, the global interest in Greek startups was evident.

We had the privilege to meet and discuss with Greek leaders from around the world, including Paul Alivisatos, President of the University of Chicago.

Our discussions extended to AI pioneers like Tom Siebel, Founder of C3 AI, who shared transformative insights on artificial intelligence, and government officials, including the Prime Minister of Belgium, further highlighting the importance of collaboration at the highest levels.

These engagements underscored Greece’s growing reputation as a hub for innovation and its capacity to connect with key global players.

Beyond the conference, Startup Greece participated in exclusive events and galas such as Arabian Nights, fostering deeper connections with international leaders and stakeholders.

Hundreds of people declared their interest in Startup Greece, showcasing the growing appeal and potential of the Greek innovation ecosystem.

The Golden Visa Program has gained traction as a platform to attract international investors, offering residency benefits and fostering opportunities for local startups to scale globally. This initiative continues to position Greece as an attractive destination for innovation-driven growth.

Statement from Dimitris Sakellaris, Founder of Statathlon: “Being in Davos, during WEF, was an inspiring and unparalleled opportunity to connect, engage with brilliant minds, and contribute to driving global change. I would like to thank Thanos Paraschos and Startup Greece for the invitation, and I’m already looking forward to next year’s event.”
