January 28, 2024Startup Greece organized the second Greek Delegation to Davos, the World Economic Forum’s environment, bringing the Greek Startup Ecosystem under the global spotlight.
Startup Greece, a leading organization in promoting and supporting the growth of startups in Greece, is proud to announce its second Greek delegation to Davos. SG Delegation allowed fifteen Greek leaders, investors, executives, entrepreneurs, and policy-makers to access the WEF network from the 15th to the 19th of January.
The recent World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos was a success for the Startup Greece Delegation, showcasing impactful moments and connections that will shape future collaborations.
Insights from the SG Delegation at Davos
The SG Delegation at Davos, the second time a delegation from Greece attended, which happened under the auspices of the Ministry of Development, had the opportunity to immerse themselves in a global environment and set the foundations for future endeavors. These future endeavors will be made public soon, and they work as added fuel for Startup Greece to stay committed to its goals and objectives.
Upon arrival, we hosted a networking dinner amongst the Greek Delegation and some global stakeholders. During the night we have the chance to discuss about initiatives on emerging markets and technologies and share insights.
Startup Greece Delegation participated in numerous events and attended speeches of business leaders. As a highlight, Sam Altman’s talk and open forums led to discussions on innovation, collaboration, and trust-building. Meetings with leaders from C3 AI and The Coca-Cola Company set the stage for practical cooperation, providing a roadmap for growth, and at the same time assisting us in evolving further our angel investor network. Sharing a table with global leaders during the Swedish Lunch emphasized the importance of working together internationally to build trust. Davos 2024 gave insights into AI trends, ensuring that we stay updated on innovations.
Participating startups had the chance to meet investors and stakeholders through the B2B Meetings event we organized. Through this event, we came face to face with interesting personalities from the business world and talked about investments in the Greek Startup ecosystem and improving accessibility.
Connecting with Indian officials aligned with our vision, paving the way for future partnerships. India’s interest in collaborating on innovation, talent exchange, and investments signals promising opportunities.
The Startup Greece Delegation successfully navigated encounters and discussions, laying the foundation for practical synergies and a shared vision for the future.
The following statement by one of the delegates, Ms Victoria Gavriliadou, the Delegation’s Youth Ambassador, a title held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education Religious Affairs and Sports, sums up the success of the SG Delegation; “Changing the game – that’s Davos 2024 in summary! It was so much more than a conference; it was a place full of ideas and personalities. It’s where connections were not just made, but crafted with passion! Every spot, from formal meetings to casual chats, was alive with energy. We encountered thinkers who don’t just envision the future; they’re actively constructing it. Leaders who don’t just talk, but truly inspire. Entrepreneurs who aren’t merely running businesses, but are starting revolutions. Every individual we met, and every discussion we had, paved the way for real change. Cheers to the dreamers who boldly chase their visions. Davos 2024 wasn’t just an event; it was a tribute to these innovative minds shaping our future. And we, the Greeks, were right there with Startup Greece!”
Finally, the SG Delegation at Davos was highly praised by International and National Stakeholders for its initiative and involvement in various events, taking part in the WEF 24. Many future invitations were made to its members.

This year’s event focused on providing a crucial space to build on the fundamental principles of driving trust, including transparency, consistency, and accountability.
