Greek Startup Ecosystem, Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Circular Economy Updates
May 2026 was an active month for Startup Greece, with new initiatives, ecosystem activities, startup highlights, and community engagement across Greece.
As a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting, connecting, and advancing Greek entrepreneurship, Startup Greece continued its mission to support the Greek startup ecosystem, empower young people, and create opportunities for startups, innovators, investors, institutions, universities, and ecosystem builders.
This month’s highlights include Startup Greece’s participation in Panathenea, the completion of the From Waste to Worth workshop series, new developments in the Greek AI and deep-tech startup scene, and a storytelling series featuring the history, activities, challenges, and future vision of Startup Greece.
Startup Greece Participated in Panathenea
Startup Greece was pleased to participate in Panathenea, a meaningful gathering that connects culture, community, innovation, and entrepreneurship in Greece.
Through its participation, Startup Greece had the opportunity to engage with inspiring people, exchange ideas, and highlight the importance of entrepreneurship as a driver of community development, creativity, and social impact.
Panathenea created a valuable space to explore how innovation in Greece can be connected not only with business growth, but also with culture, identity, collaboration, and long-term ecosystem development.
For Startup Greece, participating in events like Panathenea is part of a broader effort to strengthen connections between the startup ecosystem, local communities, cultural initiatives, and future-focused organizations.
From Waste to Worth: Circular Economy Workshops, Startup Pitching & Round Table Discussion
In May 2026, Startup Greece officially wrapped up a series of activities under the From Waste to Worth project, focused on circular economy, sustainability, youth empowerment, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
The programme included 4 workshops, which also featured a startup pitch session and a round table discussion. These activities brought together startups, experts, young people, NGOs, and ecosystem stakeholders to explore practical ways of turning waste into value and building more sustainable communities.
The workshops covered key topics related to circular economy practices, sustainable entrepreneurship, environmental awareness, social innovation, and the role of young people in creating positive change.
The startup pitch session offered a platform for innovative startups to present their ideas, while the round table discussion encouraged knowledge exchange and collaboration between participants, experts, and ecosystem representatives.
Through the From Waste to Worth project, Startup Greece continues to support initiatives that connect sustainability, entrepreneurship, youth participation, and circular economy innovation.
A special thank you to all speakers, participating startups, partners, and attendees who contributed to the success of this activity series.
