Driving Innovation: A Journey from India to Qatar

Journey to India:

The journey began in New Delhi, the political and cultural epicentre of India, where our Managing Director had the honour of taking part in the 9th Raisina Dialogue. Being among the 63 CEOs and industry leaders selected to accompany the Greek Prime Minister on this state trip was a recognition of the pivotal role our Managing Director and our organization play in driving creative solutions and transformative impact across the globe.

This esteemed occasion was opened by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This expedition was part of Greece’s broader 2024 economic diplomacy program, aiming to underscore the nation’s extroversion strategy. 

The discussions explored the numerous opportunities for collaboration across sectors such as technology, defence, and trade. Of particular interest was the exploration of the pivotal role that startups could play in the ambitious India-Middle East-Europe Corridor project. This initiative could pave the way for a new era of connectivity, fostering unparalleled economic integration and opportunities.

Our Managing Director’s itinerary spanned the bustling cities of New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore. Every visit provided a chance to learn more about India’s dynamic market, and engage with industry leaders,. and explore potential collaborations that could drive transformative impact across borders.

Web Summit in Qatar

But the journey didn’t end in India.  The next stop was the Web Summit in Qatar, gathering an astonishing number of over 15,000 attendees. During the event, discussions revolved around the transformative impact of AI on the global stage,. highlighting the rapid evolution of Qatar’s ecosystem into a hub for innovation. Representing Startup Greece, the focus was on the potential benefits for Greek startups within this rapidly evolving ecosystem. Conversations with influential figures in innovation, startups, and investments provided insights into the local ecosystem’s development. and the opportunities for Greek startups to expand and thrive in new markets like the Middle East. The Prime Minister of Qatar’s announcement of a $1 billion investment fund dedicated to startups underscored the region’s commitment to investing in technology and fostering a supportive environment for startups.

As we anticipate the exciting developments ahead, we’re enthusiastic about the future of Greek startups and cross-country collaborations. There’s a world of opportunity waiting for us, full of chances for new ideas, working together, and making progress.
